August in the Garden

Chris asked the other day (yesterday?) if I had taken any pictures of the garden lately. I haven't really, besides the zucchini monster pictures. So, today's blog is a photo blog of what is growing in the garden. I took all these today. Enjoy the tour!
Jalapeno

Bell Pepper

Banana Pepper (yes I know what it looks like)

Big Spaghetti Squash!

This yellow flowered monster is Chris' Tomatillo plant. It is taking over.

Acorn Squash

Poblano Pepper

Green Beans

Early Girl Tomato

Cucumber

Basil

The Garden Spot

Lemon Tree (2nd year)

Lemons

Sunflowers

There are a few other things, too. The potatoes are still going strong, we are starting to get lemon cucumbers, and pickling cucumbers, onions, carrots, and two kinds of parsley, plus some patty pan squash which are just starting to fruit.

Our corn got attacked and I'm pretty sure it will be a total failure this year.

Our blueberries are done...we got about 2 cups or so worth of berries, which isn't too bad for a first year planting.

Seriously though, if you have a black thumb in the garden department, and want to feel successful as a gardener....plant zucchini. I am buried under a pile of it!

Ha! Not sure if I am a "gardener" or not, but I sure do try! I am going to do a post about what I have been doing with my zukes, maybe that will give you some more ideas! Thanks for reading!
